Design, Operation and Troubleshooting Industrial Ovens and Furnaces

Webinar On-Demand
Provided by Process Heating
Presented by Thomas F. McGowan, PE

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the three main aspects of industrial ovens and furnaces.
  2. Discuss the major design elements of industrial ovens and furnaces, including estimating the load, choice of burners, furnace design, applicable design codes, required combustion controls and, where required, air pollution control.
  3. Identify issues related to training, written SOPs, and local signage.
  4. Outline good maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques to find and fix root causes to aid in fast resolution of equipment and operating problems.

This webinar covers three main aspects of industrial ovens and furnaces: design, operation and — when trouble rears its head — troubleshooting.

Major design elements include estimating the load, choice of burners, furnace design, codes, combustion controls and, where required, air pollution control. Operation includes issues on training, written SOPs and local signage. Maintenance includes having spares on hand and guidance on periodic inspections.

Good troubleshooting techniques to find and fix root causes are a mixture of art and science. Both are covered during this webinar to aid in fast resolution of equipment and operating problems.
